Location:
This is a hands-on, Family Friendly opportunity to help Peconic Baykeeper grow 125,000 oysters that will be used to help restore our waterways. Those that just want to come by to see what we’re up to and learn about this project are welcome too! Parking is along the road with a short walk down a maintained trail to the water.
Participants should bring:
-Light garden gloves to protect their hands if they wish to handle oysters (we have a limited supply available to borrow)
-Sunscreen, water, snacks, bug spray (all activity is outside)
-Attire you don’t mind get a bit dirty if handling oysters
-Water shoes/footwear if they want to help with stocking oyster cages to protect against any cuts from shells, etc.
