I grew up on and in the water – sailing, swimming, diving, fishing, just sitting and watching it. Our coastal habitats are beautiful, great for tourism, and necessary for life. When I became aware of what was happening in Peconic Bay, the loss of shellfish, the algal blooms, the beaches being closed, I thought the best way to help was to join the Peconic Baykeeper Board. The East End of Long Island is nothing without a healthy watershed!
